Couch to 5K

The Couch to 5K program is for those who have always wanted to run, but never knew where to start. Anyone can do this successfully, even those with no previous running or exercise experience, as it is designed for people who are currently inactive. It is a 9 week program in which participants will build up from running/walking intervals to completing a 5K (or 3.1 miles). Columbus Road Runners offers this training program free of charge for everyone. The only cost associated will be the entry into the goal race, which is not mandatory to participate, but is strongly encouraged. Having a goal race encourages that the participant will see it through to the end. We offer the program in correlation with the following goal races: Summer Solstice 5K (June), Country’s Midnight Express (August), and the Aaron Blake Memorial 5K (November).
